you know whats weird? I was on tumblr trying to think of something to post, then this ingenious George Carlin quote popped into my head. I rush to deviantart with excitement to find a picture to go along with the quote. I happen to see this and thought "DAMN! THAT'S A PERFECT PICTURE!", and apparently we both have the same idea lol.
it made me cry. id love to say i hate war. and dont get me wrong. i dont hate any one man or woman out there. they are doing things that none of us has the strength to do. thats why, (people in your comment box) sit on their butts and argue about it.
yeah, sometimes they probabally dont like waht they are doing but i dont think they have a choice. they are doing their JoB.
apart from this, my boyfriend is in the military and this picture really touched me. it reminds me of something lost.
anyways. haha i have the flue. dont listen to me if it doesnt make sense. its a WONDERFUL picture and its very amazing and touching. thank you so much!!!!!!!
wow! great message. Sometimes it is very true sadly. But other times, for people from small countries around the US and from US territories, it is necessary to move to the US in search of the American Dream, even if it is just a myth.
i was wondering if i could use this photo for my english class, i wouldn't take any credit for the photo, that isn't the assignment, i want it to use it for a background for a poem of mine, cuz we have to present them in an artistic way. i don't want to infringe you though. I would love to use it if you'd let me, but if not..well sad day your art work was truly great, lovely idea.. and its so fitting.
This is a very nice work. Great perspective and mise en scene. The coloring is just to die for and the message works well to tell itself.
As I have interpreted it: It basically says that the American Dream has become just that, a dream, albeit a deluded one. The U.S. used to be a great place. Somewhere you could go and start a new life, make a good living, but now it's turned into a hell full of crazy Jesusfreaks and a deranged president who doesn't know what he's doing.
We're doing social commentaries in my art class and I was just looking for a nice example for a flag and came across this peice, I really love it. It's fantastic how something that when you first look at it is simple is so complicated when thought of. I love your choice of the faded colors and the red of the flag
Great peice, although I don't really think the "American Dream" is impossible, one has to work their ass off for the chance at it and I think that your peice greatly portrays the hurt someone could feel on the path
So I came to this image and started to wonder what it meant specifically. At first i saw the flag and how it looked almost worn down. I feel that the picture shows how the country is sort of in trouble. Our economy is falling down, and it might even create a phase like the great Depression. The person on the right i thought represented how the Average American felt about the path the country is taking. But Your comment box is rather ambiguous. Do you mean asleep because of what we had? Or do you mean a nightmare. Either way, your image is so strong and expressive, and truly means a thousand words. Amazing job -santi12321
Create a phase like the great depression? This is the second great depression. Have you read any of David levithan's books? There's one that mirrors the state of the world almost exactly. Sorry for the rant but Bill 44 just got passed in my province. Stupid rednecked government.
I mean many things with this piece. For the most part I mean that anyone who still believes that America is the land of the free, home of the brave, best of the best, on top of the world...is dreaming. We've slipped far from the rank of the best country in the world, and something needs to be done.
Hmm, thats whats i was getting too, we are going down hill and people should be educated and help make the hill end. seriously awesome job. and not a problem, i like giving poeple feedback, especially when they create somthign that is this good
